So I was getting ready to lay my head down and dream some sweet dreams when I came across this picture on Pinterest;

Oh my.
So of course, I jumped out of bed to make it.
No, really I did.
Did I mention I’m a sucker for chocolate/caramel/sea salt?
I am.
So into the kitchen I crept, laptop in hand. I clicked the pin to get to the recipe.
Got the ingredients out. Check.
Decided on which mug to use. Hmmm.
Some of the comments indicate a larger than normal mug is needed.
Pooh should do! He will hold about 20oz of honey (or cake)
Next…
Mixed up batter.
Poured batter into Pooh. Heh heh.
Dropped caramels one by one & sprinkled with freshly grated sea salt.
Popped mug into microwave.
Waited a looooooooong 90 seconds.
Anxiously opened microwave and removed Pooh.
Peeked inside.
It’s a cake!!
I made a cake!!
In the microwave.
Whoa.
So how do you eat a cake out of a coffee mug?
Fork? Spoon? Coffee stirrer?
I went with a fork.
It was the only clean silverware in the drawer.
(Dishwasher yet to be unloaded by the daytime maid. Pfft)
Pretty tasty.
Chocolate.
Caramel.
Sea salt.
All mine.
The bottom half of the cake was bliss. Melted caramel. Salt. Nom nom.
So, this was a definite success in my book.
Easy & quick to make, but yet satisfying.
From the time I first saw the pin to the time I finished eating the cake, it was forty minutes.
My only issue is with the dishes I now have to clean.
Hmph. Want to come help?
I’ll make you a cake!

Sounds heavenly!
It was!! I highly recommend it
Yum, yum, yum. I want some that right now. Unfortunately, we’re fresh out of caramels. *sigh* Guess I’ll go have a piece of fruit instead!
Oh…fruit is much healthier. Still, I think you need to add caramels to your shopping list!
